About the role of a Junior Quantity Surveyor

This role of Junior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial aspects of each development. This includes managing the costs for each site and ensuring that targets are met by managing and controlling the budgets and valuations.

The responsibilities of a Junior Quantity Surveyor

  • Produce tender packs, chasing returns and compiling analysis of returns
  • Produce sub–contract orders, ensuring they are authorised and with all necessary documentation to comply with Group Commercial Policy
  • Complete on–site measurements and assess payments to contractors
  • Attend and contribute to various meetings, such as pre–order meetings
  • Assist the commercial manager with take–offs for land appraisals when required

Requirements for Junior Quantity Surveyor

  • Must be qualified to HNC/HND level or higher with a valid CSCS card
  • Experience of working as a Junior Quantity Surveyor with a residential house builder
