Job summary

GVR Solutions Ltd in Essex is seeking a Graduate or Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team on drylining and interior fit-out projects. You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, gaining hands-on experience on a range of schemes and receive ongoing mentoring.

The role offers structured training, clear progression to Assistant QS and QS, and exposure to prestigious commercial projects across London and the South East.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline (or working towards one).
• Previous placement experience within construction is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Eager to learn and develop within a specialist subcontracting environment.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the commercial management of multiple drylining and fit-out projects.
• Support the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and tender submissions.
• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and material packages.
• Measure works and prepare valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and assist in preparing cost reports.
• Review subcontractor applications and payments.
• Liaise with site teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Help identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and contract documentation.
• Support senior members of the commercial team with day-to-day project administration.
