Job summary

Akuna Capital in London is seeking a Junior Trader with strong mathematical and coding skills. You will work with a team of mathematicians, statisticians, and technologists to build trading models and strategies, applying quantitative methods to derivatives and market-making challenges.

You don’t need prior finance experience; the program emphasizes training, mentorship, and learning our systems and theories such as Options Greeks and Black-Scholes methods.

Qualifications

• University degree in 2024–2027 or graduating in that window.
• Strong mathematical foundations across calculus, stochastic processes, linear algebra, statistics and optimization.
• Working knowledge of statistics, numerical linear algebra, ML or convex optimization.
• Proficiency in Python; ability to code and reason under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Financial experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage trading strategies and improve profitability by turning ideas into quantitative models.
• Implement trading signals that contribute to portfolio construction.
• Develop understanding of derivatives theory and financial markets.
• Generate ideas on trading opportunities, product insights, risk management and trading systems.
