Job summary

WWF-UK is offering a 12-month placement for a Junior Public Affairs Coordinator in Living Planet Centre, Woking. You’ll help build relationships with decision-makers, follow political developments, and make the case for action that benefits people and nature.

You’ll learn how Parliament and government work, support political research, prepare briefings, and contribute to events, campaigns and other opportunities to engage with politicians.

Qualifications

• Interest in politics and current affairs with a passion for environmental issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to research policy issues and summarise findings.
• Willing to learn how Parliament and government work.
• Team player with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keep up with what’s happening in politics and follow developments in Parliament and government.
• Help develop clear briefings and research summaries for politicians and decision-makers.
• Learn how Parliament works through debates, inquiries and engagement with MPs.
• Build relationships by organising engagement with politicians and key contacts.
• Support public affairs activity around events, conferences and other campaigns.
• Take ownership of a project and deliver agreed work with support from colleagues.
• Collaborate with policy, communications, conservation and other teams to influence change.
