Job description

Project Planner - Renewable Energy Infrastructure

Location: UK-wide projects

A leading UK-based project developer is seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure. You will play a key role in the planning and coordination of projects including 100MW+ energy storage systems, H2-ready thermal power plants, and green hydrogen electrolysis assets. These schemes include complex mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering elements.

Role Purpose

To lead planning and programme management across assigned projects, ensuring timelines, methodologies, and compliance standards are met from bid stage through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tender and master programmes
  • Analyse tender information, labour, and plant resources
  • Assess construction methods and identify programme risks/opportunities
  • Produce procurement schedules and logistics plans
  • Monitor and report on project progress and forecast completion
  • Prepare planning inputs for proposals and attend client presentations
  • Support resolution of planning and programme-related issues
  • Assist with claims, entitlement assessments, and programme submissions

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven planning experience within EPC, EPCM, or main contracting environments
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience across renewable energy, energy storage (BESS), hydrogen, or similar sectors
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational capabilities
  • Familiarity with construction industry regulations and best practice
