Job summary

Graham Rose in Reigate seeks a Junior Project Manager for M&E projects. You will support delivery from planning through to completion, coordinating engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, and assisting with procurement, cost control and client meetings.

The role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on HVAC experience who wants to move into project management and develop technical and leadership skills within a forward-thinking building services company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an M&E/Mechanical Engineer.
• Strong practical knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Experience in commercial building services, facilities or construction.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive problem solving and initiative.
• Ambition to progress to an M&E Project Manager.

Junior Project Manager - M&E

The role would suit an engineer who understands HVAC systems and mechanical building services and is now looking to move away from being purely site-based and develop their career within project management.

The Role

As a Junior Project Manager, you'll work closely with experienced Project Managers and the wider engineering team, supporting the successful delivery of M&E projects from planning through to completion.

• Supporting the management and delivery of M&E projects.
• Assisting with project planning, programmes and project documentation.
• Coordinating engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Supporting the procurement of materials and services.
• Monitoring project progress, costs and deadlines.
• Attending client and site meetings.
• Assisting with technical queries and resolving issues on site.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Ensuring works are delivered to the required quality, safety and compliance standards.
• Developing strong relationships with clients, engineers and subcontractors.
• Working alongside experienced Project Managers to develop your project management skills.

About You

We're looking for someone with a hands-on M&E engineering background who is ready to take the next step.

• Previous experience working as an M&E / Mechanical Engineer.

• Experience within commercial building services, facilities, construction or a similar environment.
• An understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.

• The ambition to develop into a fully‑fledged M&E Project Manager.

Previous project management experience is advantageous but not essential. The key requirement is a solid engineering background, particularly within HVAC, combined with the ambition to progress into project delivery.
