The ideal candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and within budget, alongside managing contracts and promoting safety compliance. This role requires a strong background in civil engineering and project management, along with relevant certifications such as CSCS Gold Card and SSSTS or SMSTS.

Qualifications

  • Must have HND / HNC qualification or equivalent.
  • CSCS Gold Card and SSSTS or SMSTS certification are essential.
  • Competent with MS Project and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage current contracts and project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Oversee project administration including documentation.

The Role

Junior Project Manager - Highways Technology

The Assignment

As an Junior Project Manager, you will oversee and manage Highways technology projects across various areas of the UK from our client's office in Preston. You will work closely with the Contracts Manager and the rest of the technology team to lead the project from inception to completion and ensure that all works are completed to specification, in budget and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Manage current contracts
  • Reviewing H&S Paperwork
  • Identify Engineering discrepancies
  • Plan and oversee all aspects of a project
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines.
  • Carrying out method statement and risk assessment.
  • Managing project administration, including all site documentation.
  • Meeting budgetary objectives.
  • Reporting regularly to senior management.
  • Tracking project performance.
  • Organise resources (labour, plant, materials, sub-contractors) on each site
  • Ensure that all plant & machinery provided for the works is suitable
  • Responsibility for performance of Supervisors and Foremen
  • Coach and look after new starters
  • Organise training of employees in the various skills required for execution of the works
  • Ensure that only trained personnel are used for the activities being undertaken
  • Competent in closing out Health & Safety Files

Qualifications/Experience.

  • HND / HNC qualified or equivalent (Civil Engineering or similar)
  • CSCS Gold Card essential
  • SSSTS or SMSTS essential
  • Competent with MS Project
  • Competent with Excel
