Job summary

Ciena is seeking an Associate Services Project Manager in the United Kingdom. The role supports delivering customer services projects, under a Senior Project Manager, in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

You will lead implementation activities, manage timelines and budgets, coordinate with multiple teams, and mitigate risks to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Up to 12 months project management experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate project activities.
• Ability to collaborate within a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Salesforce project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead project implementation activities within customer networks.
• Ensure project scope, schedules, deliverables, quality objectives, and service margin targets are achieved.
• Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding limitations, and execution approaches.
• Identify, schedule, and track deliverables, milestones, tasks, and project communications.
• Document and communicate project status, risks, obstacles, and resolutions to management.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with Customer Operations, Sales, Bid Management, Service Delivery, Finance, and other stakeholders to achieve project and financial objectives.

The must haves:

• Application of judgment and decision-making across multiple alternatives.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix organization involving multiple stakeholders.
• Utilization of Microsoft Project and Salesforce project management tools.

Nice to haves:

• Certifications: PRINCE2 or PMP certification preferred.
• Experience: Experience working in a matrix organization and demonstrating influencing and collaboration across multiple teams.
