What you’ll do:

We are looking for a field based Junior Project Manager to support the Contract Delivery Manager in the Arb Utility division at Ground Control. You will be responsible for managing the operation for an assigned programme of tree works across the South Essex area. You will take responsibility for driving the programme delivery for both self, contract KPI targets and our tree cutting teams.

This is a field-based role with approximately 3 days in the field and 2 days based at home but this will vary depending on what needs to be achieved that week. You will need a driving licence as you will be driving to rural locations on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for outputs and performance within your projects, measured against safety, quality, production, budget, required timings and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure efficient communication with your assigned office based Project Coordinator and relevant action taken to ensure projects are processed in good time for smooth and efficient project delivery on all projects.
  • Timely and effective reporting and communication through to your Contract Delivery Manager.
  • Ensure your assigned tree cutting teams have a suitable work bank and are being fully utilised across the wider contract.
  • Update and manage the Work Programme, SD Programme, Held Up Programme, Planning checklists and all similar programmes for your project and assigned teams.
  • Satisfactorily resolving any Held-Up spans that need client resolution to obtain consent.
What we're looking for?

This is a great role for someone with basic field based project management experience. This could be within the Arb industry but we would also be interested to hear from anyone in a surveying, project management or field based operational role who loves the freedom of managing their own workload but is now looking for a change in industry.

Any tree or horticulture related experience from a practical or project management perspective would be a benefit but is definitely not essential.

To be successful in this role, you must also have:

  • Practiced and strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proficient and competent IT skills.
  • Well-developed team management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and balance demands from numerous sources to ensure that all stakeholder needs are met.
Career Development Focus:

We’re committed to supporting your professional growth with clear career paths, training, and tailored development programs, including our GC Leadership Academy, job specific accreditations and higher education opportunities.

Exciting Growth Opportunities:

Be part of a rapidly growing company with a dynamic team and expanding client base.

Collaborative Environment:

Work in a supportive, engaging, and innovative culture where your contributions are valued.

Competitive Package:

Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, along with flexible working options, including:

  • 23 days holiday, increasing with length of service + bank holidays.
  • Yearly bonus scheme & Share options.
  • Medigold employee support, Free Flu Jabs, Online private GP Service.
  • Free or subsidised national gym memberships.
