Qualifications

  • Security Cleared (SC) required.
  • CSCS card minimum of labourer.
  • Driving licence and ability to travel to sites.

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Project Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical systems on a busy construction site. The role involves working closely with the construction manager, interpreting technical documents, coordinating with procurement and design teams, and ensuring site safety compliance.

This role would suit a technically-minded individual at the early stages of their engineering career who is comfortable working on construction sites. Ideal candidates will enjoy hands-on problem-solving, have a strong understanding of site documentation, and be eager to work collaboratively to ensure projects are delivered safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the construction manager with the coordination of mechanical and electrical system installations between site and office.
  • Review and interpret design drawings and bill of materials for installation and progress tracking.
  • Liaise with procurement and internal teams to manage material requests and delivery notes.
  • Produce weekly progress reports and support programme delivery through effective planning.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety standards, including calibration and equipment register management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in relevant Engineering discipline (junior project engineer, junior site engineer, site installation engineer, etc).
  • Security Cleared (SC)
  • CSCS card - minimum of labourer card
  • Driving licence - and ability to travel from sites
  • Ability to pass D&A Checks


Location: Chorley / Reading (travel between office & site).
Contract
Pay: £40 per hour - LTD (subject to CEST test / IR35 determination)
Working Hours: Mon-Fri, full time.
