A design firm is seeking a Junior Design / Project Engineer in Great Yarmouth. Job description

Technique Recruitment Solutions is working on behalf of a design firm that specializes in safe, cost-effective designs with a strong background in the oil and gas industry. Due to continued success, a new opportunity has arisen for a Junior Design / Project Engineer based in Great Yarmouth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with senior engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to develop design solutions that meet project requirements and objectives.
  2. Conduct research and analysis to support the design process, staying up to date with industry standards and emerging technologies.
  3. Create detailed 2D technical drawings and 3D models using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Inventor) to visualize concepts and facilitate the design review process.
  4. Use measuring equipment to create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings from physical samples.
  5. Work closely with the manufacturing team to oversee the assembly of equipment and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  6. Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including design specifications, function test reports, and manufacturing data dossiers.
  7. Collaborate with sub-contractors and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Apprentice-trained or holding a foundation engineering degree / HND or HNC qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design fundamentals.
  • Experience in designing mechanical/hydraulic products.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D modelling software (AutoCAD Inventor) and Microsoft Office.

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch break).
