General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAV’s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and stores management systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

Job Description

As a Junior Project Coordinator you will have a wide ranging role that interfaces with a number of key project stakeholders across the business, but primarily with Project Managers / Cost Account Managers. The principle purpose of the role is to:

  • Support assigned Project Manager(s) to promote good planning practice and ensure scope, schedule & budget adherence.
  • Monitor, report & flag concerns, exceptions and issues through recognised escalation routes, along with proposed solutions.

For the Junior Project Controller position, the ideal applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Management, or a related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, as are those with some initial project control experience.
  • A foundational understanding of project management principles and practices. While extensive experience is not required, a willingness to learn and grow in the role is essential.
  • Good IT skills are essential for the position. MS Project experience would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing project needs and provide high-quality support across various tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven track record of delivering work on schedule and meeting project deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and the initiative to propose and implement enhancements to project processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with project stakeholders at all levels.

Additional Information

This role has a salary of between £27,990 and £31,110, depending on experience plus our flexible benefits package.

We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
