Job description

Proactive Personnel are currently recruiting for a Junior Production Planner for an international manufacturing company with a site based in Radcliffe. Our client are global leaders in producing fragrances, supplying some of the biggest brands in the world. This is a permanent full time position and the successful candidate will be joining the marketing team.

Main Purpose

The purpose of the role is to support the Purchasing Manager in relation to buying of material for the site.

To provide purchasing, clerical and administrative support to our purchasing department.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment or work orders as needed.
  • Liaise with procurement and production teams to ensure material availability for planned jobs.
  • Update the ERP system with planning data
  • Support the review of capacity constraints and suggest adjustments to optimise throughput.
  • Track progress of production orders and escalate delays or issues to senior planners.
  • Analyse production data and generate basic KPI reports
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in planning and scheduling processes.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (production, sales, logistics) to align on priorities and resolve scheduling conflicts.

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in a factory administration role
  • Production planning exposure advantageous but not essential
  • Good IT skills (ERP systems, Excel as key areas of experience)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Planning and Organisation in a reactive environment
  • Proactive mind-set
  • Comfortable working in a team where lots of the activity is currently manual / paper based but wants to create efficiencies and changes within that
  • Able to use own initiative to problem solve.
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English at grade A – C

Salary up to £28,000 depending on experience
