About the role:

To play a key role in the design and development of innovative products at OPD across the medical, consumer and industrial sectors.

About you:

We’re looking for junior product designers with at least 2-3 years of product development experience, preferably gained in a consultancy environment.Working collaboratively and building strong relationships with colleagues and clients is central to this role, but it’s also important that you can work independently and autonomously too.

Role Responsibilities:

• Producing innovative and technically excellent designs
,
• Building robust CAD models
,
• Delivering projects within scope, to time and on budget
,
• Collaborating effectively with colleagues
,
• Working autonomously and independently when required
,
• Communicating with clients clearly and confidently
,
• Prototype, jigs and fixtures building [3D printing, laser cutting etc] and evaluation
,
• Work with OPD’s design processes and procedures [ISO 9001 / ISO 13485]

Role Requirements:

• Degree qualified in product design, mechanical design or a related discipline
,
• At least 2-3 years of demonstrable experience in product development, preferably within a consultancy environment
,
• Excellent 3D CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks)
,
• Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
,
• Creative problem-solving ability
