Edge Careers is seeking a Junior Planner in Worcester to support an expanding civil engineering delivery team. You will work closely with senior planners, develop detailed project plans, and learn to manage 4D planning visuals for construction programs.

The role focuses on developing planning capability, interpreting drawings for accurate schedules, and maintaining safety and process standards across projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively develop and maintain robust detailed project plans for the Delivery Team in accordance with requirements, ensuring methodology is consistently followed.
  • Ensure project plans capture the full project scope and resources are considered and loaded as required.
  • Pro-actively identify opportunities and risks in the plan and monitor the critical path and key milestones, advising the delivery team on any potential changes.
  • Develop 4D animations of the project plan to aid digital rehearsal of the project construction.
  • Design and implement effective and value- added communication plans ensuring relevant teams and individuals are clear and buy into the strategy and approach.
  • Uphold Health & Safety standards in all planning processes with the mantra of 'Nothing is so important that we cannot take the time to do it safely' at the heart of all activities.

About The Role

Our client is looking to strengthen the Planning team with a Junior Planner for their ever increasing workload, driven by increased orders from Severn Trent and Thames Water. Working alongside a very experienced team, full training and support will be given to develop and hone your skills into a fully fledged Planner.

Key responsibilities:
  • Collaboratively develop and maintain robust detailed project plans for the Delivery Team in accordance with requirements, ensuring methodology is consistently followed

About You
Skills/Experience

To be considered for this role, you'll have demonstrable experience of working on relevant projects within the Civil engineering sector, preferably in the Water Industry. To succeed in this role, you'll require P6 experience. With experience of collaborative planning processes, you'll have the ability to interrogate / take information from drawings to implement efficient planning service to the business.

Your ability to communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences whilst working in a pressurised situations to tight deadlines will be crucial. Able to adapt as required to meet project objectives, you'll be innovative and supportive to other member of the teams to enhance the reputation of the Planning team amongst the business.

Our ideal candidate will be someone that has experience as a Site Engineer but sees their long term future as a Planner. All the training, support and development will be provided by an expert team
