Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Junior Physiotherapist to join our inpatient Orthopaedic team. The role offers autonomy within a dynamic NHS environment, with responsibilities across assessment, treatment and discharge planning for complex orthopaedic patients.

The successful candidate will participate in weekend and evening shifts (12:00–20:00) and will have NHS experience at student, assistant, or qualified level.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Physiotherapist qualification and be eligible to practice in the UK.
• Ability to work autonomously within an inpatient orthopaedic team.
• Strong commitment to patient-centred care and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide physiotherapy management as an autonomous practitioner for inpatients.
• Formulate prognoses and develop treatment and discharge plans.
• Demonstrate dexterity and palpatory skills for assessment and manual therapy.
• Maintain high standards of clinical practice and support staff accordingly.
• Assess capacity for informed consent and work within the legal framework.
• Participate in weekend and late shifts as required (12‑8pm).
• Support teamwork and assist colleagues during high service demand.
• Promote health promotion within the hospital setting.
• Manage clinical risk with own caseload.
