We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join our team, with the opportunity to progress to a Band 7 Mental Health Pharmacist through individually tailored developmental support.

During your journey and development within KMPT, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams. Key aspects of this clinical post include attending ward rounds, patient education and counselling, clinical audit, and medicines information. You must show compassion and respect for people with mental health problems and be driven to improve their care through medicines management.

Junior Pharmacist Benefits:

  • Annual leave allowance starting at 27 days per year (when working full time) + Bank Holidays.
  • Access to the NHS pension scheme.
  • Eligibility for the Blue Light Card (discount service for the NHS, providing members with discounts online and on the high street).

The post holder must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

This role does not require mental health experience; candidates will learn and build their experience through formal learning and work-based practice. Ongoing training and support will be provided by the Lead Education and Training Pharmacist and the clinical pharmacy team, with clinical supervision from experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacists. Additional support is available from the Trust-wide pharmacy team if needed.

The post holder will be part of a clinical pharmacy team providing medicines management services to inpatient wards. You will also collaborate with other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on audits and projects to evaluate and improve services, aligned with trust priorities.
