Job description

Junior Operations Manager - LONDON BASED

Join the dynamic sports events market as a Junior Operations Manager, responsible for managing international and routine business Summits, Market Visits, and networking events.

This role supports three key communities:

  1. Expert or new-to-market multi-sector companies seeking engagement with Rights Holders and LOCs.
  2. Sports Property owners looking for hosts for their sports properties and connections within the MEI community.
  3. Destinations (Countries, Cities, Venues) aiming to host sports events and leverage MEI relationships and assets.

Operational Delivery: The company hosts two major annual Summits in Switzerland and the UK, involving complex planning, coordination, and liaison. Regional Summits will commence in 2025, with less complexity but potential for concurrent events. The Festival of Sport is an emerging initiative with significant potential. Overseas market visits offer engagement opportunities with Host Local Organising Committees and sports events.

Routine sector networking events are a key part of supporting the community. You will be integral to managing these tasks and will develop full ownership through experience.

Key skills include: Attention to detail, multitasking, outstanding written and verbal communication, energy, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to growth and personal development.

Role Summary:

  1. Manage daily tasks and maintain clear visibility of all activities.
  2. Coordinate across teams and liaise externally with delivery partners and support agencies.
  3. Assist with financial processes such as invoicing and payment reconciliation, supported by an experienced bookkeeper.
  4. Provide limited support for travel planning.
  5. Help oversee the company's 12-month rolling master plan to coordinate activities and staff allocation.

Full training and development will be provided.
