Job description

NPD Technologist / Applications Technologist
Bristol
£up to 35,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

My client is a highly innovative manufacturer of products supplied to FMCG environments, including Food and Drink. They are currently seeking an NPD Technician to join their team in a permanent role.

Main Responsibilities of the NPD Technologist / Applications Technologist
  1. Support the sales and marketing team by providing product application solutions and samples in a timely manner, aligned with company opportunities and briefs.
  2. Engage directly with prospects and customers, promoting innovation days and conducting off-site customer visits.
  3. Drive continuous improvement within the technical applications function.
  4. Participate in the implementation of product safety and legality measures.
  5. Coordinate with the sales team and customers to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  6. Input formulations and applications data into computer systems following the company's development process.
  7. Ensure compliance with legislation regarding additives and flavourings, confirming they are legal and safe for use.
  8. Oversee customer samples to ensure they are appropriate and fit for purpose.
  9. Meet internal and external customer expectations consistently.
  10. Achieve departmental KPIs.
Experience / Qualifications Required
  • Proven experience in product development, focusing on innovation, recipe development, and product stability (shelf life, texture, flavour enhancements).
  • A strong passion for the food industry, demonstrated through personal or professional activities.
  • Excellent understanding of market trends and product positioning.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to drive projects independently.
Salary and Benefits
  • Up to £35,000 DOE
