Job description

We are currently seeking a Junior Network Operations Engineer to join our Network Practice within one of our Financial Services clients. This is a hybrid position, but you will be required to attend the office up to 4 days a week, based in Central London.

Opticore IT is a rapidly expanding specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within challenging and exciting environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications, and more.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitoring the health of the network and security infrastructure using monitoring and analysis tools
  • Reacting to alerts and providing resolution or initial troubleshooting
  • Investigating hardware/software problems and working with the manufacturers' support teams to resolve
  • Reporting and troubleshooting network connectivity to third parties
  • Reporting and troubleshooting WAN connectivity outages and issues with our partners
  • Completing Level 1 support tickets
  • Completing network audits to ensure compliance with standards

What you need:

  • Studying for or holder of CCNA/Network+ qualifications or completed a university degree in a relevant subject
  • Highly organized and motivated
  • Knowledge of basic switching and routing concepts
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Passion and enthusiasm to help the team in continuing to meet the expected high standards of performance
