Job summary

Camarc Design, a leading naval architecture firm in the UK, is seeking talented naval architects and design engineers to join our Sussex or Argyll offices with hybrid working options. You will participate in production design packages for high-speed marine vessels from concept to delivery.

Ideal candidates will have a naval architecture degree and some industry experience, with hands-on skills in producing production drawings, stability analysis, and discussions with Class surveyors.

Qualifications

• Naval architecture degree with some work experience in the sector.
• Ability to translate sales designs into production drawings.
• Capacity to work on production drawings for classification and yard manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Developing sales designs into working production drawings.
• Producing calculations and drawings packages for Classification approval and discussion with Class surveyors.
• Detailed design drawings for yard manufacture, rescue systems, raised platforms and boarding ramps etc.
• Discussion with suppliers, weight estimates and stability calculations.
• Project meetings & client visits and trials.

Do you have an interest in high-performance commercial and military vessels? Camarc Design is one of Europe's leading small craft design firms specialising in the design of seaworthy high speed working craft. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team of Naval Architects and design engineers in our Sussex or Argyll offices, with hybrid working options.

As a successful applicant you will become actively involved in the production design stages of our projects from start to finish. We produce full classification level design packages for our clients including structure arrangements, machinery systems and fitout drawings. Ideal candidates will have a naval architecture degree with some work experience in the sector and be able to demonstrate a good practical approach to design problems.

Typical tasks include:

• Developing sales designs into working production drawings.
• Producing calculations and drawings packages for Classification approval and discussion with Class surveyors.
• Detailed design drawings for yard manufacture, rescue systems, raised platforms and boarding ramps etc.
• Discussion with suppliers, weight estimates and stability calculations.
• Project meetings & client visits and trials.

Candidates should have prior experience with:

• Autodesk Autocad
• Maxsurf or other stability software
