Job summary

Trainline is hiring a Junior Machine Learning Engineer to join a deeply technical ML community. You will work with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver ML solutions that impact pricing, search, and recommendations across Trainline’s platforms.

You’ll grow through hands-on projects and collaboration, while helping production systems scale for millions of travellers. You will gain exposure to model lifecycle, data exploration, and feature engineering, contributing

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of Python and open-source data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Background in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics or similar quantitative discipline.
• Some exposure to building or supporting ML models or AI solutions.
• Interest in predictive modelling, classification, regression, optimisation, NLP or recommender systems.
• Curious, collaborative approach and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work within cross-functional teams with data scientists, software engineers, data engineers and product managers.
• Support the design and delivery of ML models and AI solutions that drive measurable impact.
• Involve in data exploration, feature engineering, model selection and evaluation.
• Collaborate to shape data products leveraging Trainline's datasets.
• Contribute to tools and libraries to accelerate ML/AI delivery and workflows.
• Participate in the ML/AI community to share learning and grow experimentation skills.
