Site Operative with Progression to Junior Miller
Location: Belfast
Salary: £30,938.50 per annum + brilliant benefits!
Hours: Permanent | Full-time | Rotating Shift Pattern

MCS Group is pleased to be recruiting for a Site Operative to join a well-established flour milling company based in Belfast. With over 300 years of milling heritage, the business continues to invest in people, processes, and product quality.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a motivated candidate to improve their skillset and improve their career prospects.

You will be trained in all aspects of the milling process, from raw materials to finished products, with the opportunity to build a long-term career in the milling industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Shift Miller and cover for mill operations as required
  • Operate a computerised milling system and monitor performance
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and hygienic running of mill operations
  • Maintain accurate records for HACCP, production, and quality systems
  • Ensure raw material supply and support equipment maintenance
  • Operate bulk and retail packing lines (16kg, 25kg, 3kg, 1.5kg products)
  • Carry out warehouse tasks including sampling, pallet checks and labelling
  • Operate forklift truck (training provided)
  • Assist in general site duties including weighbridge and laboratory cover
  • Follow all Health & Safety and hygiene procedures

What We're Looking For:

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant work experience in milling, grain handling, manufacturing, or food production
    OR
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs (A-C) including English & Maths (or equivalent)
    + 1 year's relevant work experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
