Job description

Are you a commercially minded and analytical merchandiser looking for that next step in your career? At Hobbs, we are seeking a Junior Merchandiser to join us on a 12-month contract, starting ASAP.

Role Overview

As the Junior Merchandiser, you will play a vital role in driving the performance of the knitwear and jersey department. Your responsibilities will include achieving seasonal targets across sales, profit, margin, and stock. With a strong understanding of commercial metrics, you will identify opportunities within the department and propose solutions to influence future trading and planning.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Own the knitwear and jersey department’s performance, supporting the Merchandising Manager to drive financial success.
  2. Manage department WSSI(s), ensuring sales targets are met, and markdowns and stock levels are optimized, proactively identifying improvement opportunities.
  3. Contribute to the development of new season Category Plans and strategic product planning.
  4. Assist in pricing strategies and attribute planning to ensure ranges are commercially viable.
  5. Bring innovative ideas and commercial insights to enhance department performance.
Candidate Profile

You will be someone observant of competitors' activities, using insights to inform pricing strategies. You will contribute to end-of-season markdown decisions, balancing margin and stock targets, and proactively undertake ad hoc analysis. Curiosity and initiative are essential traits for success in this role.
