Job summary
BARBOUR is seeking a Junior Product Developer for its Menswear team at the South Shields Head Office on a maternity cover contract. The role involves supporting design and technical teams to develop premium product within critical path and budget, with 4 days onsite and 1 day home-working.
You will assist with tech packs, fabric selection, lab dips, BOMs, fit sessions, and supplier coordination, ensuring timely ranges and margin targets while updating PLM with product changes.
Qualifications
- Experience in an assistant-level role in fashion/product development.
- Degree in fashion design or marketing, or equivalent.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with hands-on approach.
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task; proficiency with MS Office and PLM familiarity.
Responsibilities
- Support the design team to ensure tech packs are well executed and on schedule.
- Assist yarn/fabric selection and ordering for SMS with suppliers.
- Attend range reviews with Design and contribute to development.
- Help create, issue and update BOMs and track development to SMS stage.
- Coordinate wearer trials and communicate results and updates to stakeholders.
