Job summary

Barbour is seeking a Junior Product Developer to join the Menswear team at our South Shields Head Office on a temporary maternity cover basis. The role focuses on developing new styles in collaboration with design and technical teams, ensuring alignment with critical path and budget.

The position is based at our Head Office with 4 days onsite and 1 day home-working. You will support tech packs, wearer trials, fabric selection, BOM creation, and range updates while liaising with suppliers and

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience in an assistant level role.
Degree in fashion design / marketing or similar preferred.
A proactive, problem solving mindset with a hands on approach.
Ability to prioritise and multi-task.
Computer literate, including use of Microsoft Office, previous use of PLM systems, or similar is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Support the Design team to ensure tech packs are well executed and meet key deadlines.
Assist with wearer trials and document results.
Assist yarn / fabric selection and ordering for SMS with suppliers.
Ensure fabric selections comply with Barbour standards and testing requirements pre-development.
Attend and contribute to range reviews with Design.
Issue initial tech packs to suppliers and track development to SMS stage.
Coordinate lab dips / strike off submissions and approvals.
Support creating and updating BOMs.
Attend fit sessions with garment tech and design.
