About Us

Join 2 Sisters Food Group, one of the UK's largest food manufacturers, with an annual turnover exceeding £3 billion and approximately 13,000 employees across 16 sites. We have a strong presence in poultry, chilled, and bakery food categories, including popular brands like Holland's pies. We are committed to delivering high-quality products to the British public and our retail and food service customers, including major retailers like Aldi, Asda, Co-op, KFC, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Morrison's, Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Waitrose.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Junior Mechanical Technician to join our team at the Scunthorpe site. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with an NVQ Level 2 in engineering or similar qualifications with some hands-on experience. As a Junior Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for handling water and sewage treatment tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our plant. This is a fantastic role with comprehensive training provided, offering you the chance to develop your skills in a crucial industry sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform lab testing and take water samples to ensure quality and safety standards
  • Monitor and ensure the plant's performance, processing up to 40,000 cubic metres of water per day
  • Conduct proactive mechanical maintenance, including repairing pumps and other machinery
  • Perform general checks of the plant to ensure optimal operation and resolve any issues

About You

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in mechanical engineering, ideally someone who has just completed their NVQ Level 2 in engineering or a similar qualification. Experience in a hands-on mechanical role, such as working with machinery or performing basic repairs, is beneficial. However, this is an entry-level role, and we provide full training to help you succeed.

If you are an individual with a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well independently, this could be a perfect fit for you.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical or Engineering-based qualification
  • Some practical experience in a mechanical role (e.g., basic maintenance, repairs)
  • Ability to work within a team and have excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with strong plant odours

Why Join Us?

As one of the UK's largest food manufacturers, we provide ample opportunities for career growth and skill development. We emphasise promoting from within, ensuring you can build a rewarding career with us.
