Mechanical Engineer Gatwick 26K - 28K + Bonus & Overtime

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate should be skilled in both repair and maintenance, working regularly with other mechanics and staff to ensure all trailers meet high-quality standards. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions related to industry regulations, new product development, and company policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, service, and repair trailers to high maintenance standards, ensuring conformity to all current company EHS guidelines, policies, procedures, and mandatory EHS legislation.
  • Ensure all compliance details are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Operate all company vehicles in accordance with road traffic laws and company policies.
  • Undertake all necessary training as required by the company.
  • Provide high-level customer service and demonstrate company values.
  • Identify potential business and commercial opportunities to the line manager.
  • The role may include optional overtime. The duties outlined are not exhaustive and may change based on future developments or as directed by your supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
  • Technical background or experience, or confidence in using basic hand and power tools.
  • Welding experience (not essential).
  • High enthusiasm and good communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete relevant documentation.
  • Customer and team-centric mindset with professionalism.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously if required.
