Job Description:

My client is an MEP design consultancy seeking a Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team of 15 engineers. They serve clients across various sectors including Healthcare & Education.

This award-winning company offers stability and growth opportunities while valuing individual contributions. They are looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer with building services experience to support their team in Hertfordshire.

The role involves:

  • Developing sketches and design briefs based on client or engineering manager directives.
  • Taking full responsibility for technical and financial decisions, including system selection, project organization, and compliance with time limits.
  • Conducting building surveys and preparing reports on mechanical systems, including capability, compliance, and energy evaluation.
  • Understanding basic physics and design parameters of related disciplines.
  • Possessing comprehensive knowledge of mechanical physics and design, including energy assessments.
  • Being proficient in CAD, assisting in drawing preparation, and translating requirements to CAD Technicians.
  • Applying independent technical judgment and engineering standards.
  • Maintaining proactive communication and time management.
  • Having knowledge of British standards and building regulations.
  • Working independently without supervision.
