Job Title: Junior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer - To £35K

Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer for a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Braintree. You will be mentored by a Chartered Mechanical Director and assist Senior Mechanical Engineers with design, calculations, and site meetings. The role offers ongoing training and support to help you progress to an engineer level within a year and lead your own projects.

Key Duties:

1. Produce HVAC design calculations across RIBA stages 2 - 4a.
2. Perform duct sizing, pipe sizing, layout design, plant sizing, and heat loss/gain calculations.
3. Assist with hot and cold-water services design and mark up AutoCAD drawings.
4. Attend design team meetings with contractors, clients, and architects.
5. Coordinate HVAC designs with Electrical and Structural Engineers.
6. Participate in site visits to understand building services industry practices.

Requirements:

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Proficiency in IES, Revit, or AutoCAD.
• Experience in hotel, residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
• At least one year of post-graduate experience in Building Services.
• Ability to communicate concepts clearly and confidently to colleagues and clients.
