Job Description:

Junior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer - To £35K

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer for a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Braintree. You will be mentored by a Chartered Mechanical Director and assist Senior Mechanical Engineers with design, calculations, and site meetings.

This role offers ongoing training and support to help you progress to an engineer level within a year and lead your own projects. The company is praised for its great culture, flexibility, and supportive management, as reflected in Glassdoor reviews.

In addition to design work, you'll oversee HVAC system installation, testing, and commissioning on your projects.

Key Duties:

• Produce HVAC design calculations across RIBA stages 2 - 4a.
• Perform duct and pipe sizing, layout, plant sizing, heat loss/gain, and pressure drop calculations.
• Assist with hot and cold-water services design and markup AutoCAD drawings for finalization.
• Attend design team meetings with contractors, clients, or architects.
• Coordinate HVAC designs with Electrical and Structural Engineers.
• Participate in site visits to understand building services industry.

Requirements:

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Proficiency in IES, Revit, or AutoCAD.
• Experience in hotel, residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
• At least one year of post-graduate experience in Building Services.
• Ability to communicate concepts clearly to colleagues and clients.
