Introducing MarTech at Trainline
Marketing technology plays a vital role in powering our marketing technology and performance efforts. As a Junior MarTech Analyst, you will be embedded within the acquisition and performance marketing teams, working closely with Marketing Managers, Data Engineers, and MarTech Operations leads. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners wider data teams to connect, segment, and optimise data flows that drive our advertising platforms. This role offers a great opportunity to develop your technical skills, particularly in SQL and data engineering, while contributing directly to marketing growth and innovation. You’ll have the autonomy to support and improve our marketing data infrastructure, helping the team make data-driven decisions that fuel Trainline’s success.
As a Junior MarTech Analyst at Trainline, you will…
As a Junior MarTech Analyst, you will work closely with the MarTech Operations Lead and performance marketing teams to support the connection and management of data pipelines between our data platforms and advertising channels. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to:
Connect and configure customer, route, and pricing data from our data lake into marketing platforms via rETL and feed management platforms like Census and Channable
Segment and manipulate data to ensure it is in the correct format for ad platforms such as Google Ads
Provide data content and insights to support performance marketing campaigns and acquisition efforts
Diagnose and troubleshoot data integration issues, working with marketing teams to address their evolving needs
Assist in upgrading and future-proofing our marketing data infrastructure and processes
Communicate clearly with stakeholders to explain data solutions, usage guidelines, and gather feedback for continuous improvement
Apply a blend of programming skills, analytical thinking, data analysis and digital marketing expertise to automate and scale our digital marketing activities.

Strong SQL skills with the ability to manipulate and segment complex data sets to support marketing platforms
Experience working with marketing or advertising data, ideally supporting marketing teams
Ability to connect and manage data pipelines between internal data sources and external ad platforms
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with marketing stakeholders and explain technical concepts clearly
An openness to learning new tools and platforms, with experience in any advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta, Tiktok, Snapchat) considered a plus
Ability to work independently while contributing ideas and opinions confidently within a collaborative team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment pushing the boundaries of marketing technology
An interest and passion for AI and how we can explore the boundaries of automation and intelligence
