Responsibilities

  • Develop NPI projects and manage them to completion.
  • Support commercial requirements and produce estimates.
  • Create and maintain route cards, BOMS, and technical documents.

Skills

Experience in creating Routings for drawings, CAD and Boms
Manufacturing experience in a low volume environment
Familiar with using an MRP system
Solid understanding of Engineering principles

Education

NVQ in Engineering - Equivalent or above

gap technical are proud to be representing this manufacturing business in their search for a junior Process Engineer to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City

Performance Objectives

  • Must have experience in creating Routings for drawings, CAD and Boms
  • Develop NPI projects with all relevant departments and Manage projects through to successful completion.
  • Support Commercial requirements of the department and all other departments.
  • Produce estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals to support bids and new business development
  • Assist with tool design, manufacture, repair and purchase.
  • Produce and update risk assessments FMEA as required.
  • Provide technical & engineering support for all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Create, maintain & update route cards, BOMS, technical documents, inspection plans to support manufacture.
  • Ensure engineering and quality requirements for products are fully understood and met.
  • Develop, implement & Monitor 'Best Practice' lean manufacturing processes to achieve Business goals.
  • Process Customer Returns and complaints as required.
  • Answer defect reports and process Engineering Change Requests in a timely manner
  • Liaise with other unit leaders and other functions as necessary and support customer visits as required.
  • Own and ensure effective closure of CAPA

Person Specification

  • Aircraft /aerospace Industry / Experience in an AS9100 controlled environment is essential
  • NVQ in Engineering - Equivalent or above
  • Manufacturing experience in a low volume environment
  • Experience using engineering solutions for complex problems.
  • Familiar with using an MRP system
  • Solid understanding of Engineering principles

Desirable

  • Engineering Degree

  • Experience of Catia/Envovia V5
