This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting key accounting functions, and providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will be responsible for month-end processes, financial reconciliations, and management reporting, while also assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and payroll support.
The Person
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Management Accountant to join our growing finance team, with a confident accountancy and finance knowledge who holds a passion for financial career and hunger to retain to the DMC’s top standards it matches to the healthcare sector.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Oversee invoicing and bookkeeping processes, ensuring accurate and timely transaction posting.
- Prepare and present monthly cash flow reports and management accounts, offering insights to the board.
- Process and review journal entries, ensuring proper recording of accruals and prepayments.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring efficient processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Maintain financial dashboards, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for internal reporting.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and oversee weekly pay runs.
- Support the management of the company’s finance facility, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Assist in managing mortgage arrangements, including monthly payments and reconciliations.
- Oversee company insurance policies, including renewals and compliance.
- Support payroll processing and ensure accurate, timely payments to employees.
- Assist with NHS Framework submissions on a monthly basis.
- Prepare profit and loss (P&L) models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Manage departments buy and sell cards, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions.
- Provide financial support for bid and tender submissions, ensuring financial data aligns with business objectives.
Personal Specification
- Part qualified with some formal accounting training such as ACCA, CIMA, AAT.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- 6 months+ of experience using Xero.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and management accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Meeting deadline requirements, independently and as a team.
Desirable
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar role.
- Experience working within the healthcare sector (desirable but not essential).
