Job description

About us:

  • Founded in 2020, we serve some of the world’s largest companies across UK, Europe and North America
  • We’re a fast-growing team of 40+, based in the UK (London HQ) and US (Dallas, New York)

About the role:

We’re looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join our Legal function at Bondaval. You’ll be embedded at the core of our commercial and operational activity — playing a key role in supporting strategic partnerships, enabling product and commercial growth, and helping us navigate legal and regulatory matters with confidence as we scale.

You’ll work cross-functionally with teams across the business and have regular access to senior leadership, giving you a front-row seat to decision-making in a high-growth MGA environment.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and ready to take ownership of meaningful projects from day one. The role is based in London, with a global remit supporting our activities across the UK, Europe, and North America.

Responsibilities:

  • Contract Drafting & Review: Support the negotiation, drafting, and updating of commercial contracts, including TOBAs, policy documents, NDAs, and supplier contracts.
  • Product & Regulatory Support: Assist with legal reviews for our product suite across all markets—including support for new market entries—and monitor regulatory developments that may impact our operations or product delivery.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams to advise on legal queries and coordinate with external counsel to support legal and regulatory matters.
  • Documentation & Process Management: Maintain a centralised contracts library, track key legal milestones, and support standardisation and version control across legal documentation.
  • Legal Tech & Efficiency: Contribute to the adoption and optimisation of legal technology tools—including AI-assisted contract review and legal process automation—to enhance efficiency, reduce manual workload, and support scalable growth.

You might be a good fit if…

  • Qualifications and experience:
    • Qualified solicitor or legal executive in the UK
    • 1–3 years post-qualification experience, ideally in a law firm or in-house legal team within the financial services (incl. fintech) or insurance (incl. insurtech) sectors.
    • Familiarity with credit insurance contracts and regulatory frameworks is highly desirable
  • Skills and attributes:
    • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Proactive, commercially-minded, and able to balance legal risk with business pragmatism.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple stakeholders.
    • Great at balancing competing priorities, remaining organised and calm
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Interest in legal technology and using tools such as AI to optimise workflow
    • Able to work independently, escalating questions or issues as required

Logistics:

  • Compensation: Based on experience
  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Employee share option pool: Available - you will earn a stake in the company you are helping to build
  • Location: Hybrid, 3-days a week in our London office (office on Bermondsey Street, 5-minute walk from London Bridge Station)

Company benefits:

  • Private healthcare
  • 25 days’ holiday
  • Bike to work scheme
  • Electric vehicle car scheme
  • Private pension
  • £100/year towards physical challenge of choice
  • Learning and development support
