Job summary

Client Server Limited in London is seeking a proactive Junior Java Developer to join a growing commodities trading firm. You'll work on backend Java development and get exposure to the full tech stack including Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS, and React in an Agile team.

You will collaborate with a small team, enjoy hybrid work with three days in the office and two remote per week, and have clear progression from a 2:1+ Computer Science degree into a rewarding software engineering career.

Qualifications

• Degree educated with 2:1 or above in Computer Science (or similar STEM discipline).
• Commercial Java development experience.
• Familiar with Agile processes and TDD.
• Strong CS fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms.
• Exposure to Scala, Kotlin, Spring Boot, TypeScript, React, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker and Linux is a plus; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Backend Java development across projects.
• Exposure to full tech stack including trading systems, marketplace, websites, payments and bots.
• Collaborate in a small, Agile team with good communication.

Junior Java Developer / Software Engineer London / WFH to £50k

Are you a bright ambitious Junior Java Developer looking to progress your career?

You could be joining a hugely successful and growing commodities trading firm that specialise in trading silver and gold.

As a Junior Java Developer you'll join a small team with a focus on backend Java development, but also with exposure across the full tech stack. You'll work on a range of projects across the business including trading systems, market place, website, payments and automated trading bots.

The technology stack includes Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, TypeScript, React and AWS amongst others; you\'ll be encouraged to expand your skillset using the latest technologies and choosing the best tool for the job in a friendly Agile team environment.

WFH Policy:

You'll join the team in the West London office with flexibility to work from home twice a week.

About you:

• You are degree educated, having achieved a 2.1 or above gained in Computer Science (or similar STEM discipline) from a top tier university (e.g. Russel Group, Oxbridge) backed by A\'s / B\'s at A-level
• You have commercial Java development experience
• You're familiar with Agile processes and TDD
• You have a thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Design Patterns, Data Structures, Algorithms
• Other tech in the stack includes Scala, Kotlin, Spring Boot, TypeScript, React, and AWS, Kubernetes, Docker and Linux, so previous exposure to any of these would be beneficial but not essential - a willingness to learn is!
• You're collaborative with good communication skills
