Job summary

Nology is partnering with a leading financial services organisation to hire a junior to mid-level developer. Based in Birmingham, you will work onsite 5 days a week or relocate, using Java as your core language to build backend services and integrate with SQL databases.

You will learn best practices in coding, testing, and performance optimization, collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment and receiving guidance from senior engineers as you grow your skills.

Qualifications

• Bootcamp or apprenticeship background in computing or related STEM field.
• Some Java development experience from academics, projects or internships.
• Basic SQL and relational database understanding.
• Exposure to Python scripting or automation is a plus.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Coding bootcamp graduates, apprenticeship graduates, early-career technologists, or STEM graduates in disciplines such as Computer Science, Economics, Physics, or related fields, with a passion for software development and problem-solving.
• Based in Birmingham or have the ability to relocate, with enthusiasm for being part of a collaborative team environment onsite 5 days per week.
• Some experience with Java development (academic, commercial, or personal projects).
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to Python for scripting or automation tasks.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn AWS cloud services.
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
