Must Haves:

• 4–5 years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Strong experience with reading/writing from Kafka in Java
• Experience with microservices architecture using Spring Framework
• Familiarity with log investigation and production support tasks

Day to Day:

Insight Global is seeking a mid-level Java Developer for a strategic project involving the evaluation, migration, and decommissioning of approximately 60 existing services inherited from a separate division. The role involves assessing services to determine whether to maintain, enhance, rebuild, or retire them.

Your main responsibilities include investigating and understanding service flows, especially from the deposit side, collaborating with tech teams to design migration or sunset plans, and implementing these plans. You will work hands-on with existing codebases, making enhancements as needed, rather than building new applications from scratch.

Success requires strong ownership, excellent communication, and the ability to follow through on end-to-end service responsibilities. You will also engage with stakeholders to identify application usage, perform light production support, and coordinate with technical and business teams.
