In partnership with one of the world's leading investment banks, Synechron is seeking an accomplished Junior Java Developer (2-3 years of experience) to join the counterparty risk team, focusing on high-volume options within the Prime Brokerage division.

The Java Developer will handle large data sets and perform high-performance, low-latency risk calculations across all asset classes. Prior experience in this specific area is not required.

Required skills and experience include:

• Strong Java development skills with approximately 2-3 years of experience
• Proactive, quick learner willing to acquire domain knowledge
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize when to seek help
• Competent coding abilities; finance or enterprise experience is not mandatory
• Knowledge of Kafka, NoSQL, Angular, React, etc., is a plus but not essential

The role offers a hybrid working model, with three days onsite at the client's Glasgow office and two days remote.
