Job summary

Barings in London is seeking a Programme Analyst for the Capital Solutions team to assist in managing and evaluating a broad range of complex investment opportunities, including market dislocation, specialty asset finance, opportunistic lending, structured / preferred equity and distressed credit. The Analyst Programme offers exposure to modelling, forecasting, underwriting memos and portfolio reporting.

Qualifications

• 2.1 or 1st Class undergraduate degree required.
• Final year students with graduation May/June 2027.
• Exceptional work ethic, intellectual curiosity and interest in finance.
• Prior internship at investment bank, asset manager, or similar preferred.
• Ability to derive investment ideas meeting return hurdles.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental credit and equity analysis without bias to industry or sector.
• Perform financial statement analysis and detailed financial modeling.
• Assist in preparing investment memos with borrower operations, industry dynamics and financials.
• Monitor portfolios and assist reporting to identify value creation opportunities.
• Assist due diligence and present new investment ideas.
• Meet with management, build industry contacts, and develop investment theses.
• Support restructuring processes for troubled portfolio companies.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives.
