About The Role

Junior HV Project Engineer — Full-Time, Permanent. Preston, or anywhere North West Based (hybrid working).

The Role

Looking to build a career in high voltage engineering? This Junior HV Project Engineer role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of specialist services, including HV Cable Termination & Testing, Safety From the System, HV O&M, Cable Fault Services, and Owners Engineering & Consultancy. You will support both tendering and live project delivery, contributing to engineering excellence. If you are proactive, eager to learn, and ready to grow in a fast-paced, future-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you.

This role offers flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK, with hybrid working available. Our main office is in Preston, where you’ll be able to collaborate with the team.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support HV and fibre optic engineering delivery, focusing on cable termination, testing, and HV O&M.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Tendering, and Operations to ensure technical accuracy and customer alignment.
  • Assist in creating and reviewing technical tenders, procedures, reports, and respond to queries.
  • Champion safety and quality, promoting JFR’s ZERO Harm culture across all projects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned and COPQ reviews.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Support innovation and new product development to stay ahead of market trends.
  • Provide engineering advice to site teams and help resolve technical challenges.
