Job summary

A leading global food & beverage company in Liverpool seeks a Junior HR Business Partner to enhance HR practices. Responsibilities include managing employee relations, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and driving organizational improvements. Candidates should have strong relationship-building skills, prior experience as an HR Generalist, and ideally hold CIPD level 5 qualification. This hybrid role requires minimum 3 days in the office.

We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Junior HR Business Partner to join us in our Liverpool plant on a permanent contract. The role is Hybrid – (min 3 days office based).

The mission of this role is to underpin a culture of excellence in HR, being an ambassador for Liverpool in the wider Nutricia/Danone community. The role will drive a customer-oriented service for HR processes, providing input to shaping the process improvement journey.

To work with the mid and senior level leadership teams across site. To provide guidance and leadership across the full HR activity set, including recruitment and selection and employee relations. A true generalist role in a fast-paced environment.

Manage employee relations in conjunction with HRBP and HRA, providing guidance and advice to all employees and management team.

About you

We would like you to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and acts as sounding board on all matters relating to the people agenda
  • HR team alignment to have continuous improvement mindset towards site policies and procedures
  • All ER case management, including absence, grievance, performance management, medical capability and financial support
  • Supporting in the training and upskilling of People Managers and advocating Servant Leadership
  • Involved in Org Design work for all areas of the business
  • Provide support during audits and if needed precent and lead HR related aspects of the audit
  • IWS Pillar Member with a presence on shop floor for Daily Direction Setting meetings.
  • Ownership of end-to-end employee life cycle, including recruitment, on-boarding and management of starters, movers and leavers
  • Founda usage and compliance
  • Supporting annual DPS survey and action plans to increase engagement on site
  • Cover in HR inductions when required
  • Ownership of site Occupational Health and Physiotherapy
  • Leading or supporting internal or external projects
  • Supporting the payroll processes whilst minimising frequency of errors
  • Supporting the CEW process if required
  • HR inbox management to ensure a timely service to all stakeholders
  • Any other ad-hoc HR related tasks as required

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience of working as a HR Generalist
  • Excellent influencing, relationship building and communication skills
  • Proven track record of working effectively with multiple level stakeholders requiring an autonomous, decision-making approach
  • Can demonstrate curiosity and uses a coaching style to challenge their partners to think differently and seek new perspectives and move beyond obstacles
  • Thinks broadly and can consider all implications of actions across the business function, demonstrating high levels of resilience and emotional intelligence
  • Is practised and experienced in all matters relating to employee relations including complex cases and demonstratable risk management
  • Can demonstrate strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Has the ability to take initiative and work without supervision is essential, prioritising own workload and self-efficient, results orientated
  • Experience within unionised environments and ability to nurture an effective relationship with union representatives
  • CIPD level 5 qualified is preferred
