The Junior HR Advisor provides advice and guidance to managers and employees, on all aspects of HR across the whole employee life cycle. The Junior HR advisor will work closely with the HR Business Partners in the UK, the HR Operations and Payroll team in the UK, and across RWE OPEA’s global HR team.

The Role

The role on a day to day basis will work closely with other key partners including the HR Operations and Payroll team in the UK (Payroll, HR systems and administration team), the HR business partners in the UK and globally; the Global talent acquisition, Compensation and Benefits and Organisational Development Team including external suppliers, pension providers and flexible benefits providers. The Junior HR advisor will provide the ‘glue’ to help organize and support the day to day running of the HR team and function in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contract for the HR OPEA UK team, to provide timely support and advice to employees and managers throughout the employee life cycle on a range of topics including; remuneration, employment benefits, absences, flexible working requests and contractual changes.
  • Being the key contact with the HR Operations and Payroll team to ensure all appropriate payroll change are submitted accurately and within the relevant monthly payroll deadline including supporting line managers with submitting the relevant forms and paperwork.
  • Engage in non-complex case work in respect of absence management, grievance and disciplinary as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining the organisational management data system for the UK. Previous experience with SAP software would be desirable.
  • To provide project assistance and general administration support when any HR projects are ongoing e.g. TUPE, M&A activities
  • To be able to run and provide analysis of reports
  • Coordination and delivery of the onboarding process for OPEA UK new starters.
  • Supporting the maintenance of the HR portal and HR Policies and processes working in close conjunction with the Junior HRBP.

Requirements

  • Proven previous experience in a HR role is essential, Including current CIPD qualification
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and HR information systems (SAP is preferred).
  • A good understanding of UK employment legislation.
  • Ability to build a strong reputation by developing relationships both within and external to the business, in an approachable and professional manner, in order to deliver tasks with success and credibility.
  • Highly motivated, strong team player, flexible in approach to work, with demonstrable capacity for adapting to challenging and changing work and deadlines and the ability to get involved and support in a range of activities with a ‘can do’ approach.
  • Able to think creatively, be innovative and proactively identify workable, practical solutions to problems.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced HR environment, with the ability to prioritise and organise work effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • HR experience of working within a large, international business across global locations is desirable.
