Job Description for a Junior Housekeeper Based in Godalming, Surrey

Position: Permanent

Location: Godalming, Surrey

Pets: A Beagle

Salary: £25,396 to £29,000 gross per annum depending on experience. Plus, annual bonus

Start Date: ASAP

Hours Required: Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and some weekend on rotation.

Driver: Prefer driver, though not essential

Summary:

A prestigious private estate is seeking a Full-Time Housekeeper to join a dedicated housekeeping team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some previous cleaning or housekeeping experience-such as in a hotel, private home, or similar environment-who is looking for a long-term, stable position. You will be part of a 6-person team, working together to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, discretion, and care.

Full training is provided, so applicants with limited experience are still encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning: dusting, hoovering, mopping, and general upkeep
• Polishing silver and caring for delicate and high-end surfaces
• Making beds and maintaining spotless bedrooms and bathrooms
• Laying and clearing formal/informal dining tables
• Supporting your team and helping to create a positive, respectful working environment

Requirements

• Some experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or hospitality (e.g., hotel housekeeping) is preferred, but not required
• Must be discreet, dependable, and capable of maintaining privacy
• A team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Comfortable with a rotating schedule that includes occasional weekends
