Qualifications

Junior Graphic Designer

About this opportunity

Join Gleeds' Global Pursuits team as a junior graphic designer, supporting major national & international bids as part of our specialist bids team.

Our Global Pursuits team manages & coordinates the delivery of strategic bids for high-value schemes with global & national clients. They provide crucial support to our UK & global business and have been pivotal in securing some of our largest appointments to date.

You will join a diverse team of bid managers, writers, coordinators & graphic designers. Working collaboratively within the team and across the business, you will be responsible for designing bespoke bid-specific material including digital and print media, presentations, brochures, graphics & logos. You will work closely with internal & external designers to produce professional designs aligned with Gleeds branding guidelines and brand identity.

Your work will support Gleeds' bids for service delivery on landmark construction, infrastructure & energy projects, programmes & frameworks, both nationally & internationally. Clients include globally recognised organisations & institutions.

Responsibilities of the Junior Graphic Designer
  • Designing bespoke bid submissions, presentations, brochures, flyers, reports for print, digital, and online platforms
  • Collaborating with graphic designers to develop cohesive visual concepts and contribute to creative planning
  • Ensuring creativity and innovation align with client requirements while maintaining Gleeds branding and voice
  • Coordinating external print processes as needed
  • Designing internal communications such as posters, e-newsletters, presentations, and videos
  • Maintaining Gleeds’ visual identity guidelines and working closely with Marketing and Communications teams
  • Assisting in managing Gleeds’ online photo library and art-working photographs
  • Providing guidance to colleagues in the UK and internationally to elevate bid submissions as a global brand ambassador

Candidate profile
Experience, Knowledge, and Key Skills

Minimum 12 months' experience in a graphic design role, preferably in an agency or in-house environment.

Practical knowledge of:

  • Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • MS Office
  • Sound photography skills (not essential)
  • Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects, or HTML (not essential)

Key skills include:

  • Awareness of graphic design trends, styles, and history
  • Creative flair in typography, layout, imagery, and illustration
  • Problem-solving skills with an understanding of target audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail, including style, grammar, and proofreading skills

Experience in project management, print and online design, supplier management, or brand management is beneficial.

Qualifications

Degree or relevant qualification in Graphic Design or a related field.
