Junior/Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer (Manufacture & Product)

Salary: £25,000-£30,000 + Benefits

Hours: 40 p/w Mon-Fri: 8am-4:30pm

Location: On-site: Commutable from Pinxton, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby in Ashfield, South Normanton, Alfreton, Swanwick and surrounding areas.

A heavy manufacturing company who offer varied and rewarding work to their Design Engineers. Working in a tight-knit team of Design Engineers you will be involved in several design processes.

This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer with 1-3 years of experience under their belt looking to broaden their skillset and develop their career in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a wide range of products.

Responsibilities

Your role will be to focus on Design Engineering in the factory, including:

1. Design for Manufacture, both new products and revising existing products to suit customer requirements.
2. Design new equipment for use in the factory, and modifications to existing equipment to adapt for production requirements.
3. Overseeing the testing of new products.
4. Manufacturing process improvement and development.
5. Creating accurate and detailed engineering drawings.

Requirements

1. Qualified to degree level, ideally with a 2:1 in a mechanical discipline.
2. Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD.
3. Previous proven experience of design for manufacture.
4. 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
5. Experience with processes such as: metal fabrication, vacuum forming, plastic extrusion etc.
6. Great communication skills both internally and externally.
