Junior Geotechnical Engineer sought at this established and successful Multidisciplinary Consultancy. This role is based in London.

Overview

Our client is a global engineering consultancy with a growing geotechnical engineering division. They deliver smart, sustainable solutions across sectors including ports and harbours, container terminals, high-risk buildings and general heavy duty infrastructure projects.
They are looking for a motivated and detailed oriented Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join its UK-based team, contributing to and undertaking the geotechnical design of international port and marine infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will take a proactive role in delivering technically robust and commercially viable geotechnical solutions, in collaboration with clients and teams across multiple countries.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to develop technical expertise and gain global project exposure within a supportive, design-focused environment.
Responsibilities
    Supporting geotechnical designs for retaining walls, deep foundations, ground improvement, and pavements.
    Assisting in preparing geotechnical reports and specifications for internationalprojects.
    Interpreting ground investigation data from varied regions.
    Drafting sections of geotechnical interpretative reports and design documentation.
    Performing supervised design calculations to regional codes and standards.
    Collaborating with civil and structural teams on integrated, multidisciplinary designs.
    Conducting site visits, surveys, and inspections.
Requirements
    BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or a related field with a geotechnical focus.
    Approx. 2 years’ relevant industry background (including placements or internships).
    Sound understanding of soil mechanics and basic geotechnical engineering principles.
    Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic engineering tools.
    Interest in infrastructure development in international and coastal environments.
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable skills:
    Exposure to geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, WALLAP, or similar.
    Knowledge of UK and international design standards (e.g. Eurocode 7, BS 8002,BS8004, API).
    Awareness of site investigation practices in different environments or climates.
    Interest in marine or port infrastructure design.
    Track-record or coursework involving numerical methods or FEM.
