Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer in St Albans. The role offers hands-on experience across contaminated land, geotechnical and environmental projects UK-wide, with structured training and mentoring.

You will join a knowledgeable team, gaining experience in Phase 1 risk assessments, Phase 2 investigations, logging, sampling, and lab coordination, while developing technical and professional skills for long-term career progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or a related subject is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proactive, organised and enthusiastic approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Desk Studies.
• Support Phase 2 intrusive ground investigations.
• Perform soil and rock logging, sampling, and groundwater/gas monitoring.
• Coordinate environmental and geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Interpret site investigation data and assist with risk assessments.
• Support remediation strategies and earthworks assessments.
• Prepare factual and interpretative technical reports.
• Maintain health & safety standards during site activities.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
