Job Description:

We are looking for a Junior Technologist, Childrenswear, to support the technical team of a leading brand. The successful candidate will deliver efficient technical processes and drive product quality across children’s garments and accessories. You will collaborate with buying and design teams to ensure products are technically feasible and align with pricing structures. Additionally, you will provide ongoing technical input across all teams daily.

This is ideally a full-time role, but part-time considerations may be made depending on experience.

Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring adherence to the sealing process from prototype to production, including critical path management.
  • Working with design and buying teams during product development to achieve first-time-right samples.
  • Managing product testing, safety labelling, and sustainable credentials.
  • Applying a Quality Assurance approach across all tasks.
  • Reviewing and ensuring product compliance at the category level.
  • Assessing technical capabilities of suppliers through product evaluation and visits.
  • Raising issues with line managers and developing solutions.
  • Supporting risk assessments for safe and legal products.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to optimize production methods for quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Understanding size requirements and ensuring consistency across products.
  • Driving product fit, construction, and performance to meet customer expectations.
  • Conducting market research for current and new products and labels.
  • Managing issues from the distribution center, working with teams and suppliers to resolve problems promptly and implement CAPs.
  • Monitoring offshore production in coordination with offices.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in textile-related qualification.
  • Experience in childrenswear and/or accessories, with an understanding of commercial trading requirements.
  • Experience with sustainable fabrics and certifications.
  • Passion for the brand and commitment to delivering quality products.
