What you'll be doing

As part of the strategy around GoCompare's acquisition by Future, we're developing a technology roadmap for re-platforming our domain around an API-first, cloud-based serverless architecture to become the leading Price Comparison Website (PCW) service. This is part of our plan to expand beyond the GoCompare brand.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of the team building our new systems and engaging in professional development to stay current with industry standards in architecture and design. You will collaborate with engineers at all levels to deliver our platform and meet the needs of both customers and the business.

You will ensure that changes are scalable, tested, and developed following best practices, with continuous improvements to our codebase.

Reporting to the Tech Lead, you will work with Engineering, Product, UX, QA, and Project Management teams to ensure reliable application integration. You will also learn from the team and other resources to grow your knowledge and advance as an engineer.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve

• Experience with .NET Core or .NET Framework
• Understanding of cloud technologies such as Azure Services
• Experience or awareness of application monitoring practices, such as metrics, tracing, and logging
• Experience or awareness of testing frameworks (e.g., MS Test, XUnit, Jest, Enzyme, React Testing Library, PlayWright)

The expected salary range is £25,000 - £35,000.

This is a hybrid role based in either our Bath or Cardiff office, working three days in the office and two from home.
